Please, spare a thought today for the family and close friends of a wonderful and vibrant person who was so wrongfully taken a year ago.
You were something, you were a friend to all those you came to meet. You have not left the thoughts and hearts of all those that knew you.
We may all have changed in the last year, and we may change as the years go on, but you will always remain with us.

so today has been my first day covering for paul, and i’ve had a fun day! confused a lot of people, which has been gigglesome! got to grips with the store and phone and the system … tomorrow i’ll get to do some more things *while it’s been quiet i’ve been sat on the computer doing work and reading articles and a little bit of tumbl’ing..* which’ll be cool. i’ve been super cold so i might put on a few extra layers tomorrow.
good day , good times, i’ll be uploading work from the last project as soon as i can.

OK seen as i mentioned it in my previous post and have been keeping very on the hush hush about this, decided i might as well reveal my big news…
i mentioned to richard that i’d love work experience in store conditions after it was mentioned in a lecture. not just because i want to become more involved in technical work , but because it’d help me with my general people skills etc.
and this came up…
basically one of the store team at my uni (paul for those that know them!) is going on paternity leave whenever his other half has their baby (due date was on monday) and basically i’m going to be working in the store for two weeks.
i’m really excited for this, but because i’ve had a bug the last three days i’m quite glad they’ve not rang! i’m also nervous because i don’t know a lot of the other students and obviously the involvement in darkroom work (which i’m not amazingly skilled in)
but overall i can’t wait to do this, and i feel that now was the time to finally say what’s going on before people get a bit of a shock to see me on the other side!

In other news, i’m getting along swimmingly with the project, the studio shoot went great and i loved shooting the handmade work of applied arts, shame that 9-3 and i couldn’t get as much as i wanted done! i’m backtracked on work because stuff came up last week, but there’s not much to do!

i’m sick of people not understanding that i am a person who has a goal and that is why i am at university - studying something that’ll contribute to my goal , and more dramatically my lifestyle.
so when i make doing my work my priority, people should accept that.
when a very fortunate thing happens, and i can’t control the situation, i’m still using the time to get on with work i can add to my journal, and preparing my prints.
i’m trying to make people proud as well as doing this all for myself, and making people proud doesn’t seem to matter, or work.

So hey guys; I write to you from my uni library; ONLY A MONTH UNTIL HAND IN!!!
which means I have two weeks to organise the last photographs and get them sent off, and my print sleeves and box ordered (printing onto 8 x 10 - only decided to do this as I don’t want to do ten massive images, plus I’ve never used the size before!)
I have all the natural lighting imagery shot, manipulated and sized to 8x10. Shot some studio imagery today - not had time to back them up (as I haven’t been home yet) but they’re looking pretty good, and I can easily get five images out of them ;) I may do some extra with some of my own objects but it depends if I get the time.
Need to get some more stuff on digital cataloguing/organising of imagery as well as printing, the difference between C types and analogues (I think…)
It’s been a crazy time, I’ve not been feeling too motivated (blame two weeks off for Easter!) but the shoot going well today has helped.
All I can say now is I’m quite nervous for the next couple of weeks. I’m on top of my work, but there’s something big coming up… keep your eyes peeled!
